I believe every person is inherently worthy of love and belonging. However, we hear daily messages that tell us love is conditional, and our worth is measured by something outside of our control. My goal is to help clients remember their worthiness, and live more fulfilling lives. I am gentle, direct, authentic and genuinely care about my clients. I value diversity and aim to provide a welcoming space for people from all walks of life.
I take a holistic approach to well-being. I believe that what we consume (food, media, etc) is either nourishing to us or depleting and toxic and that both rest and movement are of paramount importance in our overall health. I believe in slowing down and appreciating the small daily joys and celebrating the steps we take toward larger goals. I would like to meet you on this journey.
My approach is collaborative with a focus on building awareness and flexibility in coping styles, with the goal of decreasing symptoms as quickly as possible. My training and approach include cognitive behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy, developmental theories, dialectical behavior therapy, and crisis/trauma-informed theories. Additionally, I am dedicated to working with first responders, healthcare workers, and other mental health providers. I have experience assessing and intervening in crisis situations with children and adults, while working w/in secure residential settings, as a member of a county crisis team, and most recently while working within two ER settings in the Portland Metro area.
Navigating life transitions and relationship challenges can be daunting and often leads to feelings of uncertainty and isolation. Recognizing the importance of seeking support during these times is crucial for healing and growth. With a holistic approach to therapy, including CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR, my practice addresses the mind-body connection to promote overall well-being.
Often, people seek out therapy in the hopes to decrease suffering and increase connection to who/what they care about. My life's work is to be skillful at supporting the people who consult me in achieving their unique version of these goals.
I was drawn to a career in mental health after working as a hospice volunteer, where I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of compassionate talk therapy. My passion lies in helping people navigate life’s transitions, manage anxiety, and thrive with Adult ADHD. I'm an ally for both transgendered and members of the LGBTQIA+ community and I have experience working with gender dysmorphia. I’m constantly inspired by the resilience I see in my clients and their determination to create positive change.
